JMU Fall 2013 Transfer

@ Whoozthat
My boyfriend still just has “complete” as his application status too. I think they release them alphabetically and it big chunks. So, hopefully they will release another set of decisions soon.

That might make sense, since my last name is d…but good luck to him!

Accepted! Am I the only one having trouble viewing the preliminary financial aid letter?

I haven’t checked it again when I get time.

@JustSoDanielle same, sent them an e-mail about it just to see what was good and they replied pretty much instantly and said to expect to see an award posted “soon”

I got in! Yippee!

yes, i would love to go to tech over jmu but tech doesnt have my major but jmu does… freaking waitlist…

Anyone transfer in to the business school, or have knowledge of transferring in the business school? I heard that you’re not directly admitted into the business school first, meaning you’d have to do one or two semesters at JMU before admission into the B school… Would that mean someone transferring in to start their Junior year would likely not be able to graduate within 2 years?

tblanc, yes that is likely. I am a nursing major and you have to apply to the program after completing gen eds and requirements, so that is why I might be at JMU for 3 years. I’d imagine the business program works in a similar way.

You still have to apply for the business school once you get here and take classes that they recommend. If you wanted to minor in business, like I am, you just have to fill out a form and take the classes.

Nkdrummond I am a nursing major also. Have you gotten your decision yet? I am so pumped!

Hey everyone today around 2 I received an email from Jmu saying my transfer application was complete. I got admitted. So I just wanted to tell everyone that they are starting to send out notifications so, start looking out for them. Good luck everyone.

Stats: Transferring in as a Junior from a community college

Articulation agreement
VA resident
High school G.P.A- 3.2

nbsumblime, I have not applied yet. I still have some pre-requisites to complete since not all of mine transfer properly, and I might have some general education to knock out. I plan on entering Nursing in fall of 2014.

Hello everyone.

I was accepted into JMU as a transfer from a VCCS. I put down accounting as my intended major. Does this mean I will be accepted into the Business School or do I need to do more?

College GPA: 3.8 (3.9 if you do not include DE classes from highschool)
High School GPA: 3.9

Does anyone know when we will get the “student” tab in mymadison? i need to do housing and take the math placement test etc

Pete777 – Does this help answer your question?

[JMU - Admission Information](<a href=“College of Business - Advising and Support Center - JMU”>College of Business - Advising and Support Center - JMU)

[James Madison University - School of Accounting](College of Business - Accounting - JMU)

It sounds like you will still need to formally apply to the COB, and when will depend on when you take COB 300.

I am sure if you call the COB or the admissions office they can answer definitively.

Congrats! :)

How do we find out if our transfer credits have been awarded?

Danielle I think they are reviewing credits now, I’m not 100% sure.

Smooth you need to go to on-campus housing on the main website and fill out a online form to get on the wait list. They will email you jmu email, which you will have to set up and is easy to do. For the math placement look up one book on the search bar sign in and there should be a check list of stuff you need to do before you sign up for orientation including links to everything. Also for blackboard, email, my Madison… ect is on current students at the top and it will pull down. Sorry if this is to much info just wanted to make sure it’s clear.

@KatMT

If I am reading it correctly, does this mean that I would not be able to enroll in the COB this fall?

I just ended my first semester at the University of Alabama and want to transfer to JMU for either the summer or the fall of 2014, does anyone have a recommendation of which is easier? I ended my semester with a 3.64, my high school GPA was a 4.0 with many AP and honors classes. I volunteered in another country and raised money for a non profit organization. Are my chances high or should I look into other schools?
