I've been accepted to JMU and wait listed by VT. I guess I'll select JMU until I hear back from VT. I've looked at many rankings and neither schools are top tier. I plan to go to JMU/VT and transfer to UVA after a year or two. I feel that I would like the experience of VT, especially with the football games. JMU seems like a small school and although the guy to girl ratio favors women, I can't see if that would be distinctive. VT is bigger and I don't think I'd notice how less women there are. VT is nationally recognized and JMU is not. I dream if working outside of Virginia so I want employers to know the college I come from, especially if I end up graduating from VT or JMU instead of UVA. The business programs I hear are comparable with JMU having a slight edge. VT IS nationally known so I feel that VT would be better to graduate from. Football games are big for me and I also feel that people at JMU care only about partying and won't focus on academics. If I end up getting into VT also, can anyone help me make the decision? Let's assume for now I've gotten in to both. My biggest concern is a national recognized college as I want to work outside of Virginia. I also like the size of VT and again, the football games are huge for me. I know academics is important but I want to have a good time as well.
