Have you been to JMU’s site to see the GPA they require for automatic admission from CC’s? I’m too lazy to check right now but I believe it’s a lot less than 3.5. I’m sure you can gain general admission but I’m not sure if nursing requires a higher GPA. I wasn’t aware they even had a nursing program. I think you should try to schedule a visit and schedule a departmental visit. If I can make a WAG I bet you get in.

What do you dislike about GMU?

Hey thanks for the response! The Guaranteed admissions agreement from NVCC with an Associates Degree is a 3.0, however, I was only at NVCC for a year so I cant follow that agreement. I thought I would enjoy GMU but it just doesnt have the college town atmosphere that I’m looking for. Once I’m enrolled at JMU, if I get in, then I apply to the Nursing program after completing one semester there. Another thing is that, my aunt is the assistant Dean of Nursing at GMU and knows the Dean of Nursing at JMU fairly well and asked her to send an email to the admissions committee supporting my admission to the University. She did so, so I am hoping that helps a lot. And I sure do hope so!

BTW, I am VERY nervous and constantly check My Madison page.

Also, just to clarify, the Dean sent an email to the General Admissions committee which is separate from the Nursing Admissions .

Relax. It sounds as though you’ll get in. Most students seem to love JMU and I hope you’re happy there!
