JMU Transfer help please

Currently I'm a freshmen in college just about to finish up my first semester at a small private college in PA. My reason for coming here was to play baseball however I have been injured and the choice I have made medically is to give up the sport which means it would be a financial mistake to stay and not be happy at a small school not playing a sport. With that being said I will be going home next semester to attend a Community College in my county and try to catch up on my credits.
I project myself to end up with a decent gpa but problem is that Eastern University, where I go now, is a private christian university that requires several specific classes to the school here. (i.e. Bible and a mission statement class) This means I will most likely only have 9 credits after my first semester able to transfer with me.
BIO
H.S. GPA- 3.2 unweighted, 3.5 weighted
SAT-1490 (Math, Verbal, Writing)
College GPA-3.25 projected 1st semester

With all of this being said can anyone offer me any advice on the transfer process and what you would think my chances are of being successful. My schools of interest are: JMU, ECU, UNCW, UMD College Park, Penn State....

I appreciate it all and sorry for the "longwinded" message
