JMU transfer questions

I am a second semester freshman at ODU. My first semester I got a 3.86 and I think I'll do just as well this semester. I had a 3.7 GPA in high school and a 1240/1600 SAT score. (Math:640; CR:600) I was wait listed and eventually denied in high school. I have heard that I will stand a good chance of transferring but my only concern is that I haven't taken a lab science. Will this kill my chances?

Thanks.

I’m not sure about your actual chances but, is it possible for you to take a lab science class over the summer? If you can, there’s usually a spot on an application that allows you to list your credits pending completion. This isn’t all schools though, so I imagine you’d have to start an online application and check.

I am also applying to JMU. I will be applying as a junior.

You have a good GPA, I think their average for 2009 was 3.3ish.
You have a decent SAT score for JMU. You are above average.

For your lab science, why not take it spring semester. They will see what classes you are taking spring and summer semester. So if you want, sign up for a science now.

By the way, I don’t think having a lab science is required? (Not positive, double check this)

I am already signed up and taking spring courses and I wasn’t able to get a class. Do you mean sign up for a summer course?

If you are applying for Fall11, then yes, sign up for a summer course. There will be a place on the JMU application to put your spring and summer courses.
