JMU vs. ???

My son is starting to receive some really great scholarship offers from other schools, but JMU continues to be his top choice. My question: Are any of you deciding between smaller private colleges and JMU?

Bridgewater College has offered my son a full tuition scholarship. He applied there as a sort of "safety school" but such an eye popping offer--28k a year--has made us pause.

Does anyone have any opinions on BC or any opinions on small prvt vs. larger public?

My son will be a Bio major w/ a minor in Env. studies.

JMU for bio major w/ a minor in Env. studies because JMU has research labs, which students can participate in. In terms of employment I believe JMU offers a better opportunity because many companies in the F500 or even in NOVA, VA, D.C., and etc. hire many JMU students. I believe somewhere on US NEWS, JMU ranks in the same level as Harvard for being one of the best universities with a high end research lab.

Thank you, VTHope12. He is going to try to get a look at labs before he decides:) (Randolph-Macon was a no go after a tour.)
