i was looking on the princeton review, and it said that work experience was "not considered" in the application. I was wondering if the admissions office still would not consider it even if a managerial position is held. Does anyone have any knowedge of the admissions process at wake forest
?

First of all be wary of anything the Princeton Review says. Of course work counts as an extra-curricular activity. I worked for four years at 20 hours per week during the school year and 40-50 hours per week during the summer. I'm sure that this helped the overall strength of my application. The admissions process at Wake will definetely not be extremely numbers driven. Obviously you still need high stats to get in, but Wake (since it doesn't have the sheer number of applicants as other schools) is able to look at the total picture of a student. If you have any questions feel free to PM me. GL

I believe, but I could be wrong, that work experience is a different section on the Wake application. They certainly look at it, though, and it will definitely count in your favor.

Like ginny, I don't remember exactly how application was set up, but I do remember my son listing his work. He had worked since age of 15 and played varsity sports--but had little other "clubs". I think the time shown working helps to explain possible "weaknesses" in other areas. After all, there are only so many hours in the day and I do think adcoms realize this.

i appreciate all of the replies!
