Job Hunt! Any Help VERY Appreciated

I was not planning on looking for a job until the winter semester so I'd have time to fully adjust; however, I feel adjusted and my necessary expenses have turned out to be a lot higher than anticipated so I'm now looking for a job! I have already filled out the Student Employee Application on wolverineaccess, but it's not especially important to me that I work for the university. It can be anywhere downtown, so long as it's not sketch.

Has anybody heard of any places downtown, particularly in the State Street/South U area hiring or seen any Now Hiring signs? And any suggestions you'd like to give me?

Thank you!

I haven’t seen anything in that area recently that I remember now that miaza’s took down their now hiring sign (other than the hot dog stand by espresso royale, which I assume is not preferable!), but I was just at Briarwood on Friday and even though it’s not downtown they had a BUNCH of places hiring so it might not hurt to put out an application as a last resort if you REALLY need a job, there are a couple different bus routes that go there and it was very easy for even me to handle and I suck at the buses. Otherwise, I’ll keep my eye out for you. I live at EQ so I’m right around the area you are hoping for.

I highly recommend looking at the Student Employment website. Search the listings and apply using the online form. You may also want to attach resume and email the contact person directly.
