Job Market Hot for Accounting

I have read recently that the Big Four accounting firms have so many openings that they are offering entry-level salaries in the $60,000 range plus signing bonuses. Other majors that are “hot” right now include: electrical and mechanical engineering, health care work, computer science, finance, and marketing. The article states that business majors are faring better than liberal arts majors. They pointed out that management information specialists are in less of a demand due to more companies sending that line of work overseas.

Fortune mag says, "PricewaterhouseCoopers is hiring 3,100 new grads in 2005, up about 19% over last year, and Ernst & Young will top that, adding 4,000 newbies, a 30% jump from 2004." Accounting will be a highly demanded skill in the near future.
