<p>We invite you to join the executive team of the global leader in Maritime education and training at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York. This is a challenging opportunity for an energetic professional leading the student affairs program of the Academy's Regiment of Midshipmen as Commandant.</p>
<p>THIS IS AN EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.</p>
<p>This position serves as the Assistant Superintendent for Regimental/Student Affairs - Commandant of Midshipmen at the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA). The Academy is a four-year, accredited, degree-granting institution of higher learning where students are trained and educated as officers of the U.S. Merchant Marine, U.S. Naval Reserve, and for positions of management responsibility in the maritime industry ashore after service at sea.</p>
<p>The Assistant Superintendent for Regimental/Student Affairs is one of four Assistant Superintendents reporting to the Superintendent and has full authority and responsibility for the Midshipmen Regimental and student life program. The Regimental Program, along with Academics and Athletics, is a major component of the Midshipmen's development at the USMMA.</p>
<p>The Ideal Candidate for this position will have a Bachelor's degree from a nationally accredited college or university. In addition, military experience in officer development and/or university student affairs administration, and maritime experience in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard or an unlimited tonnage or unlimited horsepower mariner license is highly desirable.</p>
