<p>How is the job market for Computer Science these days? The schools keep saying less is going overseas and there is a huge demand for CS majors.</p>
<p>Yes, CS is good.... those who say otherwise haven't been paying much attention. The economy is shifting, rapidly, to a computer based infrastructure for most--if not all--businesses, translating into a lot of need for people who can create, build, and maintain effective systems.</p>
<p>software engineering is one of the fast growing fields for 2004-14. All other fields in computer science also have a good job outlook.</p>
<p>The people with CS majors who get replaced by outsourcing or are laid off when times are tough are usually the "programmers." But highly trained CS majors serving as developers are always in demand and can make decent sums of cash.</p>
<p>I remember reading somewhere that CS/Comp E degrees have the best outlook for the future.</p>
