Job prospect for PhD holder in Comp. Earth Science

<p>I have a really broad question; it'd be great if someone can give me their two cents on what they think about PhD training in Computational Earth Science. </p>

<p>How is the job prospect in academia and industry for a PhD holder in "Computational" Earth Science (or Mathematical Ecology / Environmental engineering) compare to the other hot fields (quantitative cancer research, general research in biomedical engineering, bioinformatics)?</p>
