Job prospects for Anthropology

Hello. I am a senior. My GPA is not impressive and I will not seek an internahip. Basically, I'm disabled (neurological degeneration of the cerebellum), and the doctor thinks i'll be limited to part time, non physical work. I wont get into how I feel about that, but my mind (Intelligence, emotional stability, sanity, memory) will never compromised.

I am thinking of going to Vancouver this summer to complete a CELTA (Teaching english to adults). In the worst-case scenario, i would need to use about $3000 extra in loans to do this.. but it is very likely it won't pose any burden. Additionally, I want to live in canada or europe , and this seems like a great way to do that. Also, I love to talk .. I would be misarable in a job with no interaction.

My question is do you think this is needed? or would the degree lead to work easily?

I am sorry to hear about your health problems. Sometimes doctors make more dire predictions than actual outcomes. If you are going to have to depend upon your intellectual ability for employment,I suggest looking at what you are interested in and seeking a graduate degree. You should be looking at an internship where you do not have to get an student loan and greater debt. Look at it this way,you are paying someone to work. A bad idea.
Have you looked at student employment with the federal government? What about the foreign service? Don’t sell yourself short. There are many options. You need to just keep an open mind.

how do the job outlooks between these compare:

 • BA Anthropolog
 • BA anthriplogy plus CELTA certificate
