Job Recruiters

Does anyone have a link about the companies that recruit from UCSB?

All companies, in effect, recruit from UCSB. To put it another way, companies recruit people, not people from certain universities. While the list of companies who visit UCSB routinely to recruit is too long to recreate here, you must understand that the mere fact that a company does not specifically visit UCSB does not preclude you from contacting/applying to/interviewing with that company.

Having said all of that, the Career Services Office at UCSB (career.ucsb.edu) is 2nd-to-none. In addition to bringing in employers for on-campus interviews, they hold numerous on-campus career fairs throughout the academic year. They also provide workshops on resume-writing, interviewing, etc.

Finally, other mechanisms for keeping tabs on the job market abound. I would suggest joining the professional society of whatever discipline you're in. If you're interested in a science/technical career, you definitely want to join the Tech-Opps e-mail list serve at UCSB (see the website https://ucsb.edu/mailman/listinfo/tech-opps for signup information). It is jointly moderated by the Associate Director of Career Services and the Associate Dean of the College of Engineering [This keeps the legitimate postings coming through and the spam out, so it is not a high "noise-to-signal" ratio kind of listserve.]

I attended BizTech last Spring, and now I'm working as an Intern this summer. :)
