Hi, I'm not sure if this topic has been brought up before on the forums; I saw a similar one, but it had a slightly different question. Anyway, help would be appreciated.
I am currently a graduate student getting my master's in counseling. I am also trying to get a job to support myself (I only graduate in two years). I have an undergraduate degree in biology and psychology. I tried to get jobs in the counseling field, but right now most jobs require a masters as a minimum requirement. Which is why I'm looking for retail jobs (cashiers, gas attendants, etc.), but I haven't gotten any call backs. So my question is, is "overqualified" a likely reason? If it is, should I leave my educational background off my resume?
I'm inclined to not mention my college degree, but the problem is I don't have much else to account for the four years I was studying. Any help would be appreciated.
