Job

Does UCI offer any jobs or anything to the students to help pay off their debts or whatever to the college? I just want to know what the base pay might be, and what they might offer to the students who go there. My friend said colleges might offer jobs to their students to help them with their debt, and wondering how that works here.

Yes, the program is called Workstudy, it is a part of your financial aid package. For example, along with grants and loans, you may also receive a ‘workstudy’ award. It ranges from $1000-2000+, not sure how much it can range from.

Anyways, its something where the government pays for a chunk of your salary, along with the employer. That said, employers that hire UCI students might want to hire workstudy awarded students over a non-workstudy student.

I currently have a workstudy job at the MBA Career Center. Typical jobs range from minimum wage to $15/hr, depending on your prior experience, qualifications, etc.
