Working at a food court was a common one among my friends last year. They got okay pay, but about $7.50 worth of free food after each shift. Also, if you can work at one at or near your dorm the that cuts down on your transportation time during bad weather.

theres a job fair on the 28th during welcome week

I believe you can apply for the jobs in the food courts online at this time. Check the RPS site or your iu email. D received an email about how to apply.

yea you can, i did last week and got a email saying I got the job soon after, rps website

what about jobs in the libraries? Does anyone have any information about that?

All I know about jobs at the wells library is that if you are at an info desk you can spend 90% of your time playing whatever games you want online (I saw a couple people playing WoW everyday).

I think more of the library jobs are work study compared to RPS.

Those sound more like my type of jobs! hahaha, I found out they pay $7.50 an hour and they require that you can stoop and stand. I hope I can get one of those, though I’m not work study (although I’m really not sure what work study is).

smile–work study is a type of financial aid. IU or the company doesn’t fund the entire wage. I think the fed govt pays part of it. Work study jobs must be filled by students that have been awarded work study as part of their financial aid package. That’s why I mentioned it.

there seems to be only 1 non-work study in wells lib available at this point…cant remember… sort of classifying / transporting books…

and tho they say rps application closes by end of july…i got a job at read after the deadline…so go quick check on rps website (“employmen”-“hourly position”)

Check out IUCareers.com for listings of on campus/off campus and work study/non work study jobs.

When I was a student I worked as a waiter at the Tudor Room at the Union. Flexible schedule and in the evenings you would often earn tips in addition to pay.
