I want to major in Biochemistry at the UCs, hopefully UCLA or UCSD. I'm thinking of being a dentist, but if i don't want to...what job options would i have? Thanks!

bump......

pharmacy or medicine or lab work.

finding a job with a biochem degree is easy to do???

Entry level jobs yes. Entry level in academic research pays 28-32k, Industry for small companies 32-35k, midsize companies pay 37-40k, pharmaceuticals pay about 38-42 average but sometimes 45k.

so thats after 4 years of college? then can u move up? or are u pretty much stuck unless u get a higher education, like for a Ph.D or something?

Yes, that is after 4 years of college. Most jobs will require that you have a decent amount of experience. Classes do not count as experience, people want you having actual job experience where you can perform skills independently with out supervision.

A Ph.D is an academic degree. Ph.D if you can get into industry will start you out at 45-60k, and with a few years of experience bring you to 90-120k.

Some companies will promote you to scientist level with 10 years experience with a BS but it all depends on the company.
