Jobs for Econ Majors

I'm entering the University this fall, and I plan to be an Economics major. I'm not one to be herded into investment banking, so I'd like to know what other jobs are available. One of the reasons I picked Economics is because of its wide range of options.

I'm open to all sorts of jobs. My high school part-time job is at an importer's office, and I love it. I'm also interested in the tech industry, but I don't really want to major in a science. While I'm not really enthusiastic about banking, I'd certainly take a job at a bank if I thought I would enjoy it, and I wouldn't compromise my mental health.

So what jobs can Economics majors really do? Is it possible to be on some sort of economic advising team at a place like Intel or Sony? I really have the most open-ended ideas on what I want to do after I graduate, and I know it's a few years away. What options are available for econ graduates of one of the best programs in the country?

Economics majors do everything. Think about it: with econ and core, you are essentially stretching your mind in many fantastic ways.

I have a few econ major friends who have jobs that are somewhat related to their degree (i.e. banking, consulting, government, the Fed), and others who are as stereotypically clueless about their futures as the philosophy or religious studies major.
