I want to become a psychiatrist but I have heard that jobs are rare for psychiatrist due to better health care. Is this true and do Psychiatrists get good salaries like other doctors?

I’d actually argue the opposite. Mental health resources in this country are probably as a whole at critical shortage levels, especially in rural communities. Certainly child and adolescent psychiatrists are in extremely high demand to the point that the AAP and the American Board of Pediatrics are creating new, unique fellowships for general pediatricians to improve the access to care issues.
