I’m applying for the John B Ervin program, but there is no limit to the amount of words I can use!
here is the prompt:
“*Review the biography of Dr. John B. Ervin and the four Program Pillars. How have you demonstrated your commitment to the ideals of the Program? Please provide 1-2 specific examples.”
Am I supposed to stick to 650-750 words like in UChicago’s unlimited “Why Uchicago” Essay?
I’ve scourged around College Conf but I couldn’t find anyone who asked the same question. How is that possible???
Please help I am very confused and this is due in 3 days. Thanks!
If you address the prompt in a clear & concise manner, then there is no need to worry about word limits.
Hey - the WashU website says a word limit of 250 for the Ervin Scholarship
Go to the WashU website and search for the John B. Ervin Scholarship Page.Towards the bottom it says:
Write a brief answer (150 words) to the following question:
Describe a high school or community activity in which you have taken initiative. What were the challenges and outcomes? What did you learn?
Write a short essay (250 words) on the following topic:
Review the biography of Dr. John B. Ervin and the four Program Pillars. How have you demonstrated your commitment to the ideals of the Program? Please provide 1-2 specific examples.
I saw this thread and the word limit info on the website way after the fact. Do you think it will be a major problem that my Ervin essay goes about 200 words over the limit?
