John Carroll interview

Hey guys who else got an interview at JCU?

Also, how are we suppossed to prepare for the interview?

i got an interview too, but i dont know if im going cuz it depends on if i get into siena/amc program (they are gonna notify me in the 2 first weeks of march)...are u going to the ucinn interview on march 5th? i am

nah, i didn't apply to the u cincinnati. Good luck!

anyways, how are you preprating for your interviews? Are you studying medical issues by buying a book?

I have an interview at JCU! March 19. When is yours?

Do you know how many are from out of state? I am from Montreal but a US citizen. Just wondering how many out of staters they look at.

no idea; medhead, did you interview to any of the other participating universities?

no, I am just doing John Carroll, how about you?

same w/ me

villaneweva,
are you going March 19? where are you from? Male or female? Have you been to John Carroll to visit?

have you had any other interviews anywhere else?

no, march 14 ( special int date), MA, M, no

hey could you do me a big favor when you're there?
When you're conversing with other applicants, see how many were interviewed at the other universities. last year, everyone who was interviewed ultimately was offerred a seat becasuse so many people opted for other prgrms

thanks

I would be happy to... I am also interested to know, since I see many of the same names on different program threads I assume many are applying to many programs, and since this is not so well known, maybe not high on their choice list. It is encouraging to know that so many were offered a seat. this is my only interview so I have a lot riding on it. I still haven't heard from Temple of UConn so I am thinking I won't have an interview with them. Where in MA? My sister goes to U in Boston. I am also a M. Do you know the male/female ratio in the DAP?

I'm in the suburbs of Boston, which uni does your sister go to?

I don't know the gender ration in the DAP, heh, but I don't think you should mind b/c JCU is full of girls and is also located near Case Western. Are you Asian, by any chance?

no I'm not Asian, r u? my dads Greek and my mom american (varied background)

oh, my sister goes to Northeastern. Shes having a great time! Shes thinking of going into medicine maybe but she still isn't sure, you did n't apply to the BU program?

haha no way. Not only is it 10x harder to get into, once youre in, you can't apply to any other med school unless you give up your guaranteed seat. BU is mad expensive too.

do you, by any chance, know the SAT scores of last year's interview candidates?

This year's is a 1363, while Xaviers is 1430. I hope JCU adcoms offerred interviews to exceptional candidates who also applied to Xavier (even tho JCU knows those applicants will choose Xavier over them). This doesn't sound likelye b/c JCU's SAT is 70 pts less than Xavier. However, if they weren't bias towards their applicants, you and I should have a good chance of marticulating ;)

I'm not sure I understand. I did apply to Xavier but was rejected. Are u saying u hope JCU will consider Xavier apps also? I won't have to worry since I was rejected. Were you given an interview with Xavier? Biased towards which applicants? JCU or Xavier? I only applied to Xavier and JCU but only got an interview with JCU. You think we will have a chance? Do you have any other interviews. How do you know that almost all the interviewees were offered admission? This is very encouraging since I am at the bottom of the SAT range and am worried about that. Do you think they look at grades and scores once you get to the interview?
I know what you mean about BU, I really wouldnt want to go there, too big and impersonal and restrictive.....

JCU does consider everyone who applies, including kids who apply to Xavier (who often have higher test scores). I was wondering that because nearly all interviewers at JCU were offerred admission (I asked) last year as a result of students opting to go to Xavier or Dayton. JCU might try to avoid that this year by taking less qualified applicatns (and those who were not interviewed at Xavier) to ensure they do not encounter this prblm again.

i have no other interviews, i dont think they look at grades and scores, but check and report back to HQ (me)

hah

I hope that they will have the same situation as last year, that would be good for us! good luck. will you write me after you have your interview and let me know how it went?
When do we find out if we are accepted? Apr. 1?

yep we'll find out Apr 1
