I was recently notified that I have been accepted into John Hopkins' SET Program...SET stands for Study of Exceptional Talent apparently, and I have no idea how I got in. I mean the website says that they recruit 13 yr olds if they score over 700 on one of the sections in the SAT, and they follow them...till like they graduate grad school, but im 15 so im confused how i got in. Have any of you heard of this program, is it considered very prestigious?

If the only requirement is that a 13 year old score above 700 on one of the sections of the SAT, then it's probably not going to be very prestigious. It could be, I don't know for sure.

And what's this "following" thing. They stalk you for like 10 years?

:)

by scoring at least 700 on either the mathematical or verbal part of the SAT I before the age of 13.

Maybe they thought you are under 13.

Ok, then I don't think its very prestigious cause there are tons of 13 year olds that can get 700+ on Math.

:)

Notwithstanding HiWei's posts, SET is VERY prestigious precisely because there are relatively few 13-year olds who score 700 or above on any part of the SAT. Hats off to you, littleone!

Oh I don't actually know, but I'm just thinking I guess.

:)

I know many kids (may be 10-15 who have scored 700 on both verbal and math) who are in prep school. If that is the case, apply to prep school. You may get very good financial aid provided you need one.
