Johns Hopkins BME vs. Harvey Mudd

Hi, I’m going to be a senior and was wondering if anyone could tell me what they think of each program (Johns Hopkins biomedical engineering and Harvey Mudd College). I love science but don’t know exactly what subfield interests me the most (I really like biology and physics). What would you say are the pros and cons of each school? Are there other colleges you suggest I look into?

Also, how reasonable are these programs for me to get in given:

GPA:4.0
ACT:35
5s on AP Euro, English lit/Lang, apush, Spanish, biology, physics I, macroecon, calc
SAT II: 800 Math2 and physics
Fairly good recommendations
Fairly hard course load (5 APs junior year)
Decent ECs (theater, academic clubs, student government, sports, internships)
I worry cause I have no research and relatively little leadership experience).
No significant awards beyond the basic cum laude, AP Scholar, and national Merit - some Spanish awards

These are very, very different schools, and obviously both are remarkable. For an applicant who is certain to study STEM but isn’t sure what area to focus on yet, I’d lean towards Mudd–it’s undergrad-only, which means it has incredible research opportunities and resources available even to first- and second-year students, and it’s really devoted to a cross-the-board STEM foundation before specialization. It’s also *tiny/i, so it’s not for everyone. JHU is bigger, more urban, also awesome, but a lot of resources and opportunities will be (rightly) reserved for upperclass students and grads. @anoymous_elk
