Johns Hopkins Chances

I'm a senior in high school and I wanted to know if it's worth applying to Johns Hokpins, which is my #1 school at the moment even though my chances may seem REALLY slim.

SAT Score: 1720
Just took another test, but the score will probably be in the same range :-(

Try to bump your SAT score up to at least 2100.

You will have to raise your test score.

Everything besides your SAT looks great! Definitely work on that, or maybe try the ACT instead.

If I take the ACT and get a score between 31-36, will JHU overlook my SAT score?

hopkins uses score choice, so definitely yes!

APPLY ED!!! I can see you getting in

Regular decision you will get rejected

Applying ED would be a solid bet

If you paid for membership to the National Society of High School Scholars, it’s essentially not real. I would be hesitant to put it on your app. It’s one of those organizations that high-achieving kids pay into to just list something else on their app. I was invited into it too, but I didn’t want to pay for it and I will not be hurt by it.

I got 1760 on my SAT and my superscore comes out to be 1830. Does this help my situation in any way, since I’m applying ED?

That scores is still too low for JHU.

even for ED?

You need to break at least 2100, recommend 2200 to get a solid shot at Hopkins.
