Johns Hopkins Chances?

Hey guys

I am a Canadian student who is going into grade 11 IB and i am posting this thread and dedicating it to one college... Johns Hopkins. I want to go into pre med but i'm not sure yet about my major. Obviously, i have many other choices but JHU is my top choice right now. I am pretty sure i will apply to Johns Hopkins ED.To get some things out of the way:

-I am a South Asian male who came to Canada when i was 13 years old( I am 16 now) and knew very little English. will that help since i have improved a lot.
-I have good grades so far with an upward trend with straight As two previous years in Pre IB
-I do not need any financial aid for JHU or for any other colleges.

SAT:
Math:760
Writing:720
Critical Reading:650
Total:2130(I got this without much studying. Im pretty confident i can get a 2200+)

Volunteer/Summer Activities: ( I hope my volunteering shows my passion for helping the community and others)
By the time i am done i will have about 450 hours.
-Bridgepoint Hospital
-Canadian Cancer Society
-Youth Assisting Youth
-Canadian Red Cross
-Senior's Care for North Toronto
-Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

ECs(yes, my ECs are my weak point... However, volunteering should count under ECs too and i have one year to improve)
-Junior Soccer Team(city runner-ups)
-Empowered Student Partnership(9,10)
-Founder of a Free Tutor Center( I have been tutoring three kids for 3 years)
-Tech Crew(9,10)
-Class Rep(10)
-Asian Club(9,10)
-Passionate Squash, Ping Pong and Cricket player(past 6 years)

I have a bunch of math awards but nothing big enough to brag about. With all that being said, what do you think my chances are of being accepted Johns Hopkins ED. Like i mentioned, it is my dream school and if i have to improve , i will put in the time to do that. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks guys !

I'm pretty sure Johns hopkins is a match for you.

I've noticed you've posted a lot of chance/question threads. You should relax, you're defininetly going to get in. You've done fine in high school focus on your junior year and studying. You're going to get in easily to Hopkins.

thx for the advice Rh. JH can be unpredictable though cant it? anyone else please

GPA?

ten char

in Canada we don't really calculate GPA so i have no clue honestly. But my grades are good . ten char? lol

Your SAT is very good, but typical for a JHU applicant. But your volunteer work really stands out, and hopefully the admissions committee will see that. Overall, I think you have a very good chance at attending your dream school.

By the way, we're not allowed to submit a reply unless it's over ten characters in length... so you'll see a lot of people typing 'ten char' at the end of their replies.

thankyou trinitrondel.. yes i try to be involved and i wanna stress that on my app form. and remmeber that im gonna apply ED for JHU so that should help.

bumper car

"You should relax, you're defininetly going to get in." - That's a big no no. Nobody is guaranteed to get into any college.

I say you are a match for JHU unless you apply for Biomedical Engineering (which makes it a reach for anyone).

thankyou for ur advice Yatta. I am not applying to bio med for sure. Any more feedback?
