Johns Hopkins Class of 2020 RD Forum

@yalebound2020 Princeton and Columbia possibly over Yale? Interesting. You applied to Oxford? That’s so cool! I guess what I am saying is why are you here on this thread :)) :slight_smile:

  1. No
  2. Top 10 (backup)
  3. Proximity to DC / Close relationship with the Government (potential employer)

@yalebound2020 Do you plan on doing the IS degree at JHU?

@yalebound2020 Sorry, I didn’t mean to come off as rude. I was genuinely interested. Congrats on all your college decision success!

Because I have applied to JHU? The same way that most universities “claim” to do a holistic evaluation of the applicant, I, too, am doing it. I did the early thing at Yale using a sport as the hook because I was told over and over again that getting “on your own (without help from someone)” was impossible. However, I am not 100% sure (not even 50%) that I share the philosophy of the Coaching Staff. As an athlete, I will spend much time with a group of individuals that need to be like brothers. I believe (now) that searching for that bond may be even more difficult than getting into a School “on your own.” Accordingly, the search continues.

*** My mom always said that having more than 3 options becomes a problem i.e. overchoice. I disagree, for in my case it allows me to continue to search so that I can get exactly to where I am meant to be. Otherwise, the choices wouldn’t be there to begin with. My belief.

Where do you guys see ‘reviewed’ and ‘not reviewed’ on the portal? For me it just says received.

Yeah mine says received too. If you were talking about what I said then I was referring to our app being reviewed for a certain major/school

@WaywardVagabond Yea. Yours is probably reviewed . I submitted ISFAA, and Employee Statement. The statement is shown as received, but my ISFAA is displayed as not reviewed. @jkman101 It’s displayed on the portal If you applied for aid.

Hey @Dan786. Didn’t we have to submit the CSS PROFILE and not the ISFAA? I’m a little bit confused.

Can someone post a picture displaying where it says reviewed bc I am very confused. My portal only has the Fa docs, where do you see the reviewed for the app?

@Dans786: http://finaid.johnshopkins.edu/international.html That’s my reference. Did you submit a CSS PROFILE?

@jkman101 -

FINANCIAL AID CHECKLIST

Status Details Date

Received 2015 Signed Par 1040/Sched/W2, all pages 03/05/2016
Received CSS Financial Aid Profile 01/08/2016
Received Free App. For Federal Student Aid: FAFSA 02/17/2016
Received Student Non-Tax Filer Form 02/03/2016

@WaywardVagabond No. Only ISFAA.

Yeah but where does it say ‘reviewed’?

@Dan786, do they require ISFAA?

@jkman101 I only have the financial aid checklist that says ‘Received’ next to each required documents. And I think that’s normal.

@Remcenx I applied to writing seminars too!

@jkman101 No. Mine says not reviewed instead of recieved @WaywardVagabond Only If you can’t afford to pay for CSS.

@RadioGaGa I am going to sleep and check the decision in the morning…

@Dan786, thanks for clearing that up! I was a little worried I might have not sent in an essential document. Try emailing them to see why it hasn’t been marked as received. Anyways, good luck!
