Important - I am INTERNATIONAL APPLICANT needing around 20k Aid -THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Remember going ED!!!!!!

i would say you have a good chance… idk how the international aid and such will impact you, but you should have a decent chance

my friend has worst stats and he got in early, so I think you have a good shot

hey, i really would like to know if u get in or not. i’m really not sure just how much harder it is for us internationals to get in…
on the hopkins financial aid form, they say that financial aid is very limited…so…it might be very hard to get in while applying for aid. i’m not sure about this…

well technically, i think its easier Early Decision because you are in a different international applicant pool (one of fewer applicants), so i hope that helps

regular decision definitely will be tough

yeah. i agree. however, i heard that early decision is more filled with recruited athletes, legacies and stuff like that. i think that explains why the rates are higher.

Rigor of course load is huge, very solid statistics & not being white helps overall- High Match

JHU has like a 63% acceptance rate, which is pretty amazing ED

bump…thanks

Yeah, you’ve got a great shot. Essays and recs to seal the deal.

thanks, i was wondering how badly will being international hurt me ED

You are pretty much going in screwed applying ED with FA need as an International.
Johns Hopkins is one of those notorious colleges not to give out FA. They may not say so, but I can think of at least 5 people I know in past 2 years who couldn’t go because they wouldn’t give them enough money.

Acceptance rate really doesn’t matter. EVERYTHING changes for Internationals asking for FA.

It’s extremely rare for Internationals to be awarded FA, especially in Early admissions. Ask yourself, why in the world would a college give EARLY admittance AND FA to a kid that’s not even a U.S. national? They are not gonna give 2 advantages 99.9999999% of the time.

wait, so if i apply ED and say i want 20k fin Aid, if they only offer me 15k, will they jus reject me??? or will they have to give me full aid if accepted cuz its ED

BUmp…

You might not get the financial aid your asking for, and your an international…They might accept you but only give 10k financial aid. Being international and asking for aid is going to hurt your chances.

3 scenarios you will get

You will get flat out rejected (likely given the International + FA need)

You will get accepted but won’t get much cash (very possible)

You will get a full ride (Odds of this happening is so small you might as well say you are screwed)

Then they’ll prolly jus reject me, cuz if they cant meat 20k aid and its ED they cant rly accept me but not give much cash can they…

Would i have a better chance at a rich LAC ED??? if i apply for aid… such as WIlliams, cuz they r need blind

Bump…

You keep bumping this post, what are you looking for people to tell you? They’re all saying you have a good shot at getting in but not at getting the aid you need. Is there another question? Are you waiting for someone to tell you that you can get the aid? I don’t know much about International aid but aid in general is tough to get at top schools when you don’t have a “wow” factor. Check into other scholarships not given by the school, that could help, otherwise though, there isn’t much anyone can say.
