@Iwantcollegehelp- An increase in the number of ED applicants wouldn’t necessarily mean that students can afford it now. It may be that more students applied since it was the first choice for a lot more this year or, as many students think, its “easier” (even though its more difficult) to get in ED, so they might have applied for that reason.

Incorrect. Your chances are the same ED or RD. The acceptance rate for ED is higher, but it’s not because the applications are evaluated any differently - they just have more qualified applicants in the ED pool.

That’s exactly what I stated. I said that many students incorrectly think it is easier because more people are accepted when in actuality it is more difficult.

Oh and I just realized today that I messed up something on my resume and uploaded the wrong one. I just faxed it to the Undergraduate office. Will it be processed in time for for ED?

I don’t think we’re understanding each other. You’re saying that it is more difficult to be admitted ED. That is not true. It is neither more difficult nor “easier” to be admitted ED. Your chances are the same.

I have a strong suggestion for all you Early Decision applicants … TAKE A HIATUS FROM COLLEGE CONFIDENTIAL for the next three weeks. It is not healthy to be on this site every day stressing about things you have no control over. Get outside … read a good book … watch “Up” … do something else than debating these topics.

They worked hard to get to this point so if they want to talk on here everday they have every right to do so.

LOL “Up”
That movie is awesome. I thought it was just for kids, but the fight scene between the two old men was hilarious.

You really do enjoy trying to rile people up with your posts. If you actually read what I wrote I was providing advice to the students on this forum that applied Early Decision (NOT YOU). I never said they had no right to post, but instead I provided some helpful advice from my years of experience. Speculating on College Confidential every day about their chances for admissions or what factors an increase in ED applications will play is not mentally healthy. Every year I witness this behavior, and I think those who my message was directed to (NOT YOU) appreciated the message.

I think the talking dog was just awesome.

Whoa, whoa. Let’s all calm down a bit.
On another note, watch 2012! It’s pretty sweet. And makes me wander through Apocalyptic blogs throughout the night, and wonder if all of this college stuff will have been worth it come 12/21/12. LOL

OMG I know. I feel like the world ending when I’m a sophomore in college just stinks. =P
Should’ve waited least 2 more years.

Has anyone received any e-mail from JHU admission informing that their application is processed? Thanks.

I received one just a few days after the deadline.

You guys received confirmation e-mails already? I didn’t receive anything about that and I submitted my application on the deadline (Nov 1st)… should I call the undergrad admissions office about this or keep waiting for a while?

Thanks.

By now, all Early Decision applicants should have received an email (to the email you listed on your application) that stated their application had been received and was being processed. This is the only email confirmation we send out. There is no email that is sent out that confirms an application is complete. As well, there is no online system for checking application status (no log-in info is sent out to applicants).

If you did receive this email, then there is no need to call. Applications are continually checked by our office for completeness, and if an application is incomplete we contact the student and/or the school.

If you did not receive this email, then you should call the Admissions Office at 410-516-8171 to make sure your application was received and we have the correct email address for you. Do not call if you are just trying to see if your application is complete.

<applications are=“” continually=“” checked=“” by=“” our=“” office=“” for=“” completeness,=“” and=“” if=“” an=“” application=“” is=“” incomplete=“” we=“” contact=“” the=“” student=“” or=“” school.=“”></applications>

And yet other schools defer people if they don’t have a complete application. Your admissions rocks.

Sorry, I think I did receive the e-mail then. Just to confirm, is this the one;

I do not have the text of the email on hand, but yes that does seem to be the email we send to applicants confirming the receipt of their application.

Is it too late to send in November SAT scores?
