happy bday! =)

Only 2 Weeks!

Preface: My SAT I score was CR: 800 M: 600 W:800. It seemed to me that my Math score was going to weigh me down in the admissions process. Subsequently, I studied my rear end off and scored a 750 on the Math I SAT II test.

My question: Does scoring well on the SAT II Math I test make up for my less-than-impressive performance on the SAT I Math section? In other words, can I overcome an SAT I Math score of 600 with a SAT II Math I score of 750?

This may have been better posted on a different thread, but I was hoping that someone here might have an idea.

I’m sure that they will take everything into account. Also, standardized tests may be important, but I think that Admissions Officers realize that the pressure and stress involved could lead to a misrepresentation of your abilities, which you then correctly represented with your SAT II Stats. Nice Grades! Good Luck!

Thank you! I hope you’re right! : )

Good luck to you as well!

lol…im guessing they put me on their mailing list from the application stuff…did you guys get that november stress email or that big booklet(i just got it today) ok! after next week we get the results woooh! Are you guys working on other applications now?

^yea i received that big booklet too. When my mom told me that she received a big booklet from JHU, I thought it was a decision letter lol (even though I knew that it was quite impossible to receive a decision letter that early)

Wow, I hope I get a big booklet. I’m pretty sure only people who applied early and had their applications complete upon review get them, but that’s just an assumption…

oh dear, now I’m scaring myself

i got the booklet but what is the november stress email?

gtgen, i got the booklet wayy before i applied ED [during sept or oct] so i don’t think it goes out to only ppl who applied early and had their apps complete…

The “big booklet” you are all commenting about is sent to our prospects throughout the fall months. It has nothing to do if you applied ED, RD, or haven’t applied at all.

You can access a PDF of our viewbook here:

Phew! I received that booklet a month ago, I was afraid there was another that I was missing. Time to calm my nerves before the 15th.

Hi,

Just wondering, if our application was reviewed to be incomplete, should we have received a call or e-mail by now? I am a little bit unsure if one of my components was properly sent and I just want to make sure it was received in time.

I’m wondering the same thing, and I’m not entirely sure. I’m considering calling the admissions office tomorrow and seeing if my application was complete (I sent my SAT scores and fee waiver a few days late)

OK, the kid is a rock, the dad is a wreck. Even if this doesn’t work out early decision will my son be considered regular decision? No matter what happens he enjoyed Summer University at Hopkins so I can always console myself with that. I do want to thank all the unique people I met at Hopkins on my many visits throughout the last year, Daniel Creasy, John Birney, Jessica Madrigal and so may others. A special thanks to RA Andrew who is the most amazing young person I have had the priviledge of meeting. After the Cog Sci presentation in October, I am now certain we are brains in a vat, or at least a bubble gum tub. Best wishes to all.

SummerUdad, if your son is deferred, he will be considered regular decision. However, if he is unfortunately denied, his admission cycle is considered complete for the year.

If he’s deferred, encourage your son to call the college himself and ask why he was deferred. Profile and screen the admissions’ officer’s answers and see if it’s worth pursuing the school.

10 days remaining!

I think that the people who received the Nov. Stress e-mail are probably in.

what did the stress email say?

^I don’t think so. The Stress-emailed was sent on 11/20. THe decisions wouldn’t be made that early right?
