recruited athlete at JHU (coach said he would do everything he could to support my app as a prospective student-athlete, but ultimately it would come down to the admissions office)

you’re in bro

Are you being recruited for baseball or track? Did the coach mention the words tip or slot?

@sgopal2 I’d rather not say which one for privacy issues. He did mention those words and said that he will do everything he could to support my application as a prospective student. So what do you think my chances are?

Good chances, I would hope, since we are both ED with similar stats lol. Although, your school seems to be a lot stronger than mine (so your education would benefit you, but your scores may be closer to your school’s average than mine are to those of my peers). Best of luck to you!

Well there is a pretty big difference between a tip and a slot. You need to find out if the coach is giving you either of these. The last option that coaches sometimes do is to submit a letter to admissions. This doesn’t hold nearly as much weight as a tip or slot.

Which one did he mention?

@sgopal2 I just asked, it was a slot

Good news. This is about as good as it gets. That means the coach has spent one of his precious slots on you. Unless there is some sort of disciplinary action on your school record, then you will be fine.
