Johns Hopkins Fall 2016 Transfers

Rejected… I was rejected last year also. Well, congrats to those who got in!

I GOT IN!!! The rejection drought for me is over

accepted! pre-med

I got accepted!
Few questions:
Do you know if dorm with freshman?
Why are there two majors under intended major? Can we pick which one we want to do?

Is anyone here looking for roommates living off-campus? I am looking for roommates to live off campus!

Does anyone know how many people got in and how many applied?

@TNIU94 I’m also looking for a roommate! May I ask if you are male or female?

I think entering Juniors are required to dorm off campus. Regarding your question about majors, I think yes, you can choose either or - perhaps both if you are willing to put in the work?

The school just wants to get an idea of what major(s) you’re interested in. You can switch majors at any time, but that doesn’t mean you’ll be able to complete the major by the end of your senior year if you switch too late and can’t fulfill all of the requirements. Make sure you speak with your academic counselor and confirm which credits you are transferring in with will be fulfill certain major requirements. Make sure you plan ahead to see what major(s) you’ll be able to complete in your remaining time (unless you want to or need to stay a fifth year).

@Dreamer2018 it’s a little late. But I’m a male. I’ve got my apartment at university west

Hi everyone I am applying as a 2017 transfer and was wondering if any of you would be able to offer some guidance.
I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of what you think my chance of admissions is! I know its probably a long shot but JHU is my top choice and I want to at the very least apply.
Current College: University of Tennessee
College GPA: 3.86 / 4.00 Major GPA: 4.0 / 4.0
Current Major: Business Analytics, applying to JHU as an Economics major
ACT: 28 but planning to retake it
HS GPA: 3.2, easily my weakest component however I have slightly empowering story behind my low GPA (stay tuned)
College EC: Chancellors Honors College, Global Leadership Scholar, AMA Member, Officer in my sorority, interned with both The Volunteer Channel and ESPN-U
HS EC: 4 year DECA Competitor on the regional, state and international level, including several top 5 placements at the state level and one state championship (this included writing and presenting two 30 page business plans for a local sports business), 3 year DECA officer and ran to be a Georgia DECA State Officer, Miss Lambert High School (don’t think they’ll care about that but I was well rounded so thats why I included it here), two year FBLA regional and state competitor, 4 year member of the Varsity swim team
I would be transferring going into my sophomore year.
Reason for transferring (short version) is that throughout high school I struggled with severe double vision, what this means is that anything within 20 inches of my face I saw two of. When tested orally I thrived, however, I struggled to perform well under normal testing environments. My parents had me educationally tested where I was misdiagnosed with Dyslexia, a detriment for which there is no cure.I went through 5th-11th grade believing I had a learning disability. It was not until my junior year of high school that my eye doctor discovered I was actually seeing two of everything. I underwent a year of rigorous vision therapy to correct my vision (glasses cannot help this condition). Long story short throughout high school I worked extremely hard and earned half the grade of my peers, this not only strengthened my work ethic immensley but forced me to discover alternate outlets that allowed me to thrive. I found that because I struggled to communicate my knowledge via written communication that I loved public speaking (hence all of my involvement in DECA). Since having my vision corrected and being in college I have thrived academically, I want to attend JHU I would be able to major in Economics with a minor in Social Policy, this is not a combination offered a many schools including my current one and would allow me to focus primarily on Microeconomics and police. My ultimate goal is to go into some form of public service or government work. Maybe I could include some sort of plan to eventually work with public schools and how they approach educational testing, based on my personal experience and my experience writing business plans for small companies through DECA. If anyone has any ideas about that and if it would help me to stand apart feel free to share!

If you read all of this thank you so much, you’re a trooper. Any and all feedback is appreciated & the best of luck to everyone applying!

Why did you attend USC rather than JHU?

When u check out the ranking, I believe JHU is better option.
