I was accepted to Hopkins for mechanical engineering, and I’m trying to find out more about the program. I’m really not interested in biomedical at all, but the aerospace track sounds really interesting. I know that it’s a relatively small program. How are the classes, resources, advising, access to internships, etc.? I’d love to hear from anyone who has experience with JHU for mechanical engineering. Thanks!
Since nobody else has replied, feel free to message me and I’ll connect you to one of my MechE friends so you can ask them, since I don’t feel qualified to speak on their major
Hi @womaninstem would love to connect with your friend too if possible. My son is admitted to JHU and interested in Mechanical Engineering. He does have similar questions and also, are the classes taught by professors or TA’s?
Thanks!
Thanks so much! Not sure how I missed this. We found someone and heard great things about the program. How do you like JHU?
Hi, I think this might be easier if you get your son to email me and I can forward him to MechE majors I know, iparris1@jhu.edu
I’m enjoying my time here! The classes are undoubtedly challenging, but I know that I had wanted to go to a university that was going to push me more than my high school did. Everyone I know currently doing MechE seems to enjoy it, though the requirements are pretty strict compared to other majors so it’s harder to add another major.
I would like to connect with your friend there, too. I will have my son to email you. Thank you!
That sounds great. The research there seems amazing!
Did your son decide to go to JHU for MechE?
My son got admitted to JHU for MechE this year. We are also interested in learning about mechanical engineering at JHU. Appreciate if anyone could share some details
