johns hopkins life

okay, so i know hopkins is an academic powerhouse , and extremely prestigious, but i cant help but feel that i will make a mistake by going to there ( dont get me wrong, getting in was a definite ego boost and felt great but...)

heres one interpretation of the school from a person there
"hopkins is like unprotected sex. glad you got in, sorry you came." this is a suposed reference to the poor social life

im definiiitely a laid back person, like going out on weekends , liberal etc
and worry if i go to hopkins i will have committed SOCIAL suicide....

i'm going there this fall. from what i've heard, it's not at all like that. i guess it's what you make of it, right?

if anyone at JHU has some negative comments, please post...i want to get both sides of the story

My best friend from high school goes to JHU...he hates it. He says everyone is really competitive and it is difficult to make friends. He's not the most outgoing person himself however, and I haven't visited him enough to know what campus life is really like. I have met a junior girl there that wished she transferred after her freshman year though. Lets put it this way: I wouldn't want to go there.

when i visited there during a school day, the campus was dead, very still. and it was like that all day.
