Other:

I have really good unique essays and awesome LOR. For my Teacher Eval. my bio teacher marked "few times encountered in life" for stuff like potential, creativity..etc..

I'm also very artistic, ice skater (mentioned that in my interview) and very in love with Hopkins.
I'm also a female and Iranian.

I am such a hypocrite for doing this.

the upward trend will definetely help you, however that SAT score will really hurt.

dont want to be a party pooper but for any top 25 school ull need at least 2000 to be considered

Habibi,

The avg SAT for JHU is a 1440/2160. True the ED rate is 48%, but I do't think it's gonna help without a hook. JHU doesn't look at freshman grades, plus you got a good upward trend (though upward trend isn't a huge deal at top schools, but it helps a little). Got a class rank? Sorry, but those SATs are too low, so JHU is a reach, maybe even a big reach.

your ECs are good, your GPA should be fine, but the SAT...

no class rank =(

the SATs have ruined my life. The morning I got my score, I cried the whole morning and on my way walking to school.

Hmmmm..maybe you should try the ACTs........

I can't take another test, I already turned in my ED application. And alot of sections on the ACT, like Chem- I've never taken those classes (currently taking this year). And I just can't study for another test given the time I have.

the science section on the ACT doesnt really test your knowledge of science its more like reading the graphs...

good luck though.

14 more days. =(

I scored lower on the November SAT.

early decision was a BAD decision…

my uncle is an admn officer at Brown and he says early decision is a numbers game. If you rely on extra currics, etc. you shouldve gone regular dec.

It will be extremely hard for you to gain admission to JHU. You should consider American University, George Mason University, but the academic atmosphere might be too overwhelming for you, sorry.

I believe the decision came out last Friday… I sincerely hope you got in, but remember that there are other colleges. Placing all your hopes and dreams in one single university can be devastating; I know, I’m speaking from my experience. But in any case, if you truly are dedicated to academics and learning, you have the ability to succeed at any institution if you work hard enough. Best wishes for your future!

Also, TheBOf_Living, that’s an interesting (though disappointing to me) thing you said… Some of the results in the ED’s for top schools this year so far suggest that the trend you described has either become obsolete, or at least partially. Stanford’s a huge example… I wonder to what extent it holds true…

Salaam!

I am also Iranian (half iranian, half mexican), and I speak farsi as well… Though your SAT is not strong, it does not disqualify you. I hope you were accepted.
