I think you have a chance at Hopkins but considering how ridiculously selective Stanford is, it’s unlikely that you’ll get in considering you’re not in the top 10% of your class and your test scores are below Stanford’s admitted averages

Both schools are reaches.

Thanks for the input

For Hopkins it kinda depends on your major. If you’re a BME major then I’d put Hopkins at a reach. Otherwise its a low reach.
Stanford is always crazy no matter your stats -always a high reach.
If you want to increase your chances you should take the ACT one more time and aim for a 34+.

If you apply early to JH I think you have a really good chance and that legacy will also help. Stanford is a major reach but if you get your test scores up, get great recommendations, and write passionate essays, you have a shot as good as anyone else. Good luck!

Both of those schools are reaches for most. Keep working hard. Think about some matches and safeties. Best of luck to you.

You’ve got a great chance at Hopkins, especially because your uncle makes you a legacy. Use that!! It increases your chances by a lot. For Stanford, you need to write GREAT essays, but I wouldn’t say you have no chance.

^Not really. My sister applied as a legacy with better stats (val w/34 ACT) and got dinged. Most Hopkins students are in the top 5% of their class and the ACT range is 31-34 for enrolled students. Not sure how any of you can say the OP has a great chance - especially when the acceptance rate is a 15% overall. Also, a 32 ACT is firmly within Stanford’s range.

And an UNCLE is NOT a legacy. At all. The amount of misinformation on CC by high schoolers is astonishing.

Poor chance at both unless the rank improves, you garner better accomplishments/awards, and you have a strong essay

You do have a chance but be sure to apply to other safeties just in case! Please chance me as well
