Johns Hopkins Summer Program/Admission Chances

Hey guys,
I’ve wanted to go to Johns Hopkins for years now, and I feel like my essay/grades are solid. I also got 3 800s on SAT Subject Tests in Math II, Bio M, and Chem. I got a 2230 superscored on my SATs
My GPA however, is a little on the low side, a 4.275 weighted, and therefore my class rank is 23/254 (still top 10%).
So now for a little more context. I am competing with another person to get into Johns Hopkins Early Decision, and her SAT score and GPA is higher. She’s also done a summer program this last year.
My question is that is it possible for Johns Hopkins to admit 2 people, early decision, from the same school? Im confused because I know they’re a very selective school.
Another question is how much does a summer program honestly count for the other person’s chances of getting in?
Thank You so much for your input in advance!!!

Of course multiple students can be accepted from the same high school! There are many factors to consider such as how large your high schools is (254 in a class is on the smaller side), how competitive it is, the state the high school is located in, JHU’s history with your school, and most importantly, what you can offer as an individual. Of course schools value diversity and don’t want to be recruiting students from the same few schools, but it’s not as if they set some type of superficial limit barring excellent students from enrolling. My year we had eight students accepted to Hopkins, but previous years we had no one accepted (possibly less applied that year, etc.). There are so many factors that need to be considered, so the mere fact another student is applying for the ED program from your school is nothing to worry about, and besides, it’s out of your control…unless you plan on doing something truly dastardly.

Thank you! Now i guess I’m less scared and more calm XD. Ill have to think about doing something dastardly though
