Is it particularly hard to get recruited for track at JHU? I have already been accepted there and everything and I just realized they are Division 3 so I could actually keep up! haha
Also, is it too late? I have no idea how all the athletics part of college works at all! lol
I submitted a recruiting questionnaire form for track on the JHU athletics site, but is that all I need to do?
I hope my times would be good enough to run because I would love to, and I will definitely work hard to get even better if I get to. :D

Send the coach an email. I have two friends who got in and will run there, one runs a 4:25 mile and 2:00 800 and the other runs a 9:40 3200.

That’s awesome! I guess I will do that!
Thank you

Does anyone know if the coach at this school has any influence in admissions? I know it’s D3, but from what I’ve heard from the coach its track program is still pretty strong…

Yes, being a recruited athlete can be very helpful at Hopkins, and not just for Lacrosse.

I sent you a PM

Definetly at a strong track and cross program like JHU, recruiting is a help!

Lord, even thought I’ve been accepted, I don’t know if I would make the team!
I mean I’m not horrible or anything but I’m not insanely good either lol
They do have good 800 times lol but I didn’t get to run the district meet this year because I went to Discovery Days at JHU ironically lol and I planned to have a better time there of course!
I also run the 400, which is where I think I could maybe keep up haha
I emailed the coach and filled out the track questionnaire hoping he will like me!
I work hard and I’ll definitely make an asset to the team if I were to get on it!
I just hope I can get on it lol
:S
Does anyone know how hard it is to get on? I didn’t even think about trying to run at Hopkins when I applied! And now, knowing that they’re D3, I looked into it and maybe I can! But I feel like it might be kind of late and I’d have to be super awesome to get on haha
What does everyone think?? I have to commit to JHU or another school by this Friday basically haha and I’m pretty sure I am picking JHU, but if I can run track for them…it’s a DEFINITE yes lol

I would think the most discouraging thing the JH coach could be thinking is that, up until now, you didn’t see yourself as a college athlete. I’m going to guess if you say you’ll put the miles in, he’ll let you walk on and see what happens. Do you run XC? If not, you’d probably still be expected to stay fit this summer and do a limited workout schedule in the fall. Good luck! This sounds like an exciting turn of events for you.

Ok I see I see haha
Yeah, that’s what I was fearing! I would have loved to run in college…but for some reason, I assumed everywhere I applied was Division 1! So I was like…uhhh I’m not good enough for that. So I just said I’m going to keep running track this year anyway because I love it and that will sadly be the end of track
But after I got in and stuff just I looked into it more! And I got really excited about maybe being able to lol
But I would DEFINITELY put in the miles and work really hard…
I did run XC yes hahaha I’m more of a track runner though! I definitely wouldn’t be up to par to run collegiate cross country I don’t think haha
but thank you much! It really was haha
