Johns Hopkins University Transfer Fall 2010

Yeah, apparently the classes are taught at the Carey school which is downtown away from the main campus. I’m not sure I like the idea of missing out on student life by just studying in an office building downtown, even if it is pretty cheap.

Kulakai, what do you mean by your last post? is the undergrad business program somwhat cheaper than any other undergraduate study?

[The Johns Hopkins University - Undergraduate Tuition](<a href=“Home | Johns Hopkins University”>Home | Johns Hopkins University)

I meant cheap as in because the program is so new they are charging less than most business undergrad programs. It appears it is indeed much less than the other undergraduate majors too(only because the business school is so new)

The program seems to be isolated from the rest of the Johns Hopkins Undergrad. Is there on-campus (main campus) housing available?

I have a similar SAT (2240) and the reps I’ve talked to from Stanford say not to bother with retaking the reasoning, since it’s used to measure college readiness. Haven’t spoken to a rep from Hopkins but the common data set says test scores are a nonfactor:

(section D)

has anyone started the application yet? I recently sent out my forms, and I was debating sending my SAT scores (pretty good). should i? they’re at the top level of the admitted freshman score range.

I have started the app!

damn Castiel, you are on like every thread I’m on haha

lol just Cornell and JHU, but I am applying to a few others (cornell is still numero uno!)

So for the common application essay we should leave the “Please provide a statement (250 words minimum) that addresses your reasons for transferring and the objectives you hope to achieve” blank? JH Supplement says “Students applying as transfers to Johns Hopkins are required to answer question 2 only. The Common Application essay is not required of transfer applicants.”

Hey,

have any of you guys gotten an email or response back from JHU about what application materials they’ve received already? It’s been over a week and I’m surprised that I haven’t heard anything back, though I think they’ve downloaded my common app and my app fee already. Or are they not doing this?

I submitted application quite long ago, but didn’t get any email from JHU. Probably adcoms are processing freshman applications now?!

well, freshman decisions should be coming out very very soon (if they’re not out already), so maybe they’ll start on the transfer pile afterwards? I thought it was standard procedure for schools to send applicants confirmation and checklists of what they had. But oh well, good to hear that someone else is in the same boat.

Yeah I sent my application a while ago and got no such confirmation of any of my materials. whats the dealio Johns Hopkins??

does anyone have any information about JHU Carey school of business? I’ve heard some information about it, but I dont know much. Is it difficult? Know of anyone who’s attending? I know it is a fairly new department for the Hopkins school, but if anyone has any information regarding Carey school of business, please let me know!

Ditto on the no confirmation or information from JHU as of yet. I thought this was because I applied for a fee waiver, but I would be interested to see who has heard anything.

I’ve just received an e-mail with my ISIS ID and some information about financial services. Thought everyone should know.

I also got that. Still no info on application materials, though.

Under requirements, did all of you fin aid applicants get the message that your Student Aid Certification Form is missing? Says it comes out and should be filled out by summer, so I’m assuming we only complete it if we get in?

Hey Guys,
Does anyone know if the minimum cumulative GPA applies to your cumulative HS and first semester college grades, or only college grades? Afraid mine weren’t so hot last semester… :-/

Chance Me:

I am a 28 year old non-traditional student. I have been active in my college during the last ten months after being laid off as a sales manager for an air cargo company. I am the VP for PTK Honor Society and PBL Business association. Also, I am a mentor for children in the county foster program. I applied as a junior transfer with a Finance A.A. from a Florida CC and a 3.90 GPA.

Thank you for any feedback or advice. Best of luck to everyone!!!
