Johns Hopkins vs. Cornell?

Hi everyone,

I was accepted at JHU, Cornell, Rice, UC Berkeley, Emory and Georgia Tech, but because of financial aid, it really has boiled down to Cornell and JHU. Both are dream schools and quite honestly, I am having the biggest difficulty deciding which would make a better college experience. Does anyone have any thoughts on the locations, campus life, etc., about either? Also, I would like to study comparative literature at Cornell and English/Latin american studies at JHU, which doesn’t have an official comp lit undergrad program. Lastly, I would like to go into public healthcare industry, if that helps anyone. Thank you!!

Everything else aside, JHU is in an urban environment while Cornell is rural and beautiful. Each will have an impact on your life at school so which would you prefer?

Congratulations! Both great schools. Can you revisit and stay over night? Cornell is a beautiful campus and college town but kind of in the middle of nowhere whereas Hopkins is 15 minutes from downtown Baltimore and a train ride from DC and Philly. What happens on the weekends? How big a role do fraternities/sororities play in the social life?
