Hi! I have been accepted into all three schools but have not been able to visit any of them. I plan to major in Bioengineering, although I am not entirely set on it yet (I may switch to Chemical/Biomolecular engineering). With this in mind, which school would be the best fit for me (only taking into account curriculum strength and opportunities relevant to my intended field of study)? I was not admitted into the JHU Biomedical Engineering program so that will not be an option.
My thinking so far is that as a private school, I will have access to much more opportunities in research with professors and faculty compared to a public school. However, JHU is not ranked higher than Berkeley for chemical engineering. Is the difference in student to faculty ratio enough to make up for this difference in ranking? Also, I am not sure whether I want to go into industry or research (academia) yet. So future job opportunities is also extremely important to me.
If anyone has a better understanding of the strengths of these programs outside of an arbitrary ranking scale that would be very helpful. Thank you!
