Johns Hopkins vs Union/AMC

Hi thestartingline, I’m wondering what kind of stats the people who are accepted to union/albany have. My son is interested in applying next fall and I’d like to know if he should be hopeful he’ll be accepted.

“My friend is in Hopkins BME and it’s tough for him”
…and BME is tough for everybody at any UG as well as any engineering major at absolutely any place, including the lowest ranking state publics and very top caliber kidds who decided to attend there. There are absolutely no exceptions to this, none.

You have to decide if you want the stress and maybe one or two other people to study with or do you want to study with a group of 15 or 20 that really helps each other. Also look at the merit aid at Union ( whose parent corporation owns Albany Med and Albany law).

Do you want to spend 200 hours studying on that MCAT? How about applying to a dozen (or more ) med schools and fly all over the place for the interviews?

The study groups at the BA/MD program will put in unlimited effort to help you get through Orgo or Biochem as long as long as you are making an honest effort. One student never wanted to study on weekends and after months of helping the group gave up . But short of that you are a team member in a group that does not leave their wounded behind.
