Johns Hopkins with lower GPA

Hey everyone!

So I am going to be applying to Hopkins next year early decision. My major is going to be behavioral biology.
My stats:

SAT: 2120 (taking them again in the fall)
AP Exams: Will be taking AP Bio, AP Lit and Comp, and AP French
GPA Unwieghted: 3.8 (I have heard this is low for Hopkins)
My school does not have AP/IB/Honors - except for honors math which I am taking and I am taking both French & Spanish and I also take college courses at the community college near me

EC’s:

  1. President of NAMI Club (National Alliance for Mental Illness) and planned a walk for my school - 3 years
  2. Photographer for Yearbook - 2 years
  3. Model United Nations vice president of club - 3 years
  4. Writer for an online magazine - 3 years
  5. Head of Green club - 4 years
  6. Debate Club - 3 years
  7. Apart of teen club at local museum
  8. Apart of Planned Parenthood teen group of my city
  9. Volunteer at local hospital, tutoring kids, teaching kids squash

Internships/Programs

  1. Intern at a neuroligists office for whole summer
  2. Worked at research lab at Hopkins for summer
  3. Shadowed head of pediatrics at Hopkins for summer

About me:

  1. Both of my parents are from Iran and went to college in the UK
  2. I am fluent in 4 languages and currently learning a 5th
  3. I am from Maryland - from a private school where normally 5 or so kids get into Hopkins ever year

I have heard that my GPA is somewhat low for Hopkins so I was wondering if you think my EC’s would make up for it?

Thanks so much!

Well since you’re butt buddying with the Hopkins staff I think they’ll flow you some admission broski.

If you apply ED, your GPA is not low. I got in with a 3.8. Maybe try to improve your test scores, though and write a very unique essay

It always boggles my mind to see how prevalent internships are in other places, where in my city, you could have perfect gpas and sat scores and great ecs but still be rejected by every institute.
If you apply ED, i don’t see why you would not get in!
