I heard the JHU just started an economics/finance undergrad major. Does anybody know anything about this?

Also do they have an undergrad business program? If so, how is it rated?

I'm currently an undergrad at Hopkins--I'm majoring in economics. The finance program you're thinking of is a new minor in financial economics run by the Center for Financial Economics, which I'm planning to complete. The program is headed up by several professors who were formerly affiliated with the Fed and the IMF, so I think the program has somewhat more of a focus on public policy rather than high finance. The minor is pretty flexible, though, so you can pretty much design your own concentration within the CFE. I know JHU has directed a lot of attention and funding to the program lately, and I think it will definitely be a worthwhile course of study. According to the head of the CFE, there is a plan to eventually expand the minor into a major, but no timetable has been put forth as of yet.

There's no undergrad business program at Hopkins, although there is an Entrepreneurship and Management minor that is often referred to as a minor is "business" but I'm not sure how valuable some of the courses taught as a part of this minor are.

Geithner went, i believe, to JHU and now he's the upcoming treasury head.
