so are all coming out via fedex?

Has anyone heard a no? We’re waiting and my mom thinks since our FedEx hasn’t come it’s a no but we’re in SC so maybe it takes longer unless they overnighted it? Does anyone know?

Can someone check when the fedex package was sent out via Fedex tracking web site?

I’m thinking yes was a fed ex and no is snail mail. Unfortunately I’m with the snail mail group. I’m assuming they overnighted them all so they should have been here.

Mine came today too!

For everyone who got it, where are you located? Close to W&L?

No. I live over 500 miles away.

I got my invitation this afternoon!

Does anyone know anything about regional scholarships? Because they were supposed to tell us about those by the end of January too

Fedex arrived in small town, New Mexico today! How do they make the travel arrangements? DD is 2+ hours from an airport.

I live in FL and just got my invitation today through Fedex Express!

Apollo6, once your DD accepts the invitation, W&L will book plane tickets for her. They try to cluster kids on the same flights coming from connecting airports so it is easier for admissions to pick the kids up on their arrival in Roanoke. Our DD was routed through Chicago O’Hare, which would not have been my choice, but it worked out ok. Save receipts for transportation to airport & meals enroute; we were reimbursed for same. DD enjoyed the competition & is now a happy W&L Johnson scholar. Congrats!

Got the finalist letter today in Anchorage, AK!

Stats:

SAT: 2400 (Superscored, 2 sittings)
SAT II: 770 Math II, 730 Lit
GPA: 4.0 unweighted
Rank: 1/5
Common App Essay: Great
Johnson Essay: I thought it was pretty lame, but apparently they didn’t!

Lots of leadership, lots of volunteer activities, tons of musical extracurriculars.
I had awesome recommendations, as well, so those might have helped me a bit.

See you guys in March!

Are there only 5 students in your class?! Wow! It will be quite a trip from Alaska!

Congratulations to all the invited students! I bet the weekend will be great. I’d love to be a fly on the wall for one of those weekends!

@Apollo6, yeah, I go to a tiny school.
Anyone else have to look forward to 12+ hours of flying time?

Also, to all those who are wondering about how the letters were sent, they were sent on January 31st by guaranteed Fedex overnight mail. So, if you were selected as a finalist, you should have received your invitation on February 1st. Maybe a couple got a bit tangled up in transportation; i’ll keep my fingers crossed for everyone!

Congratulations to all finalist. WL web site indicates that only finalists competed on campus will be considered for various scholarships. Other schools will be much better choices for the rest of us.

Congrats to all finalists. Well done. Good luck.

No letter from WL. So guess there is no merit scholarship money for me. Also did not receive any financial aid other than loans. Applied ED but no way I will be able to make this work. Anyone know how WL will handle?
