I'm a sophomore in college and am missing playing the sport I played in high school. I'd like to join it next year, but I'm nervous about joining as a junior and the time commitment. Has anyone done this and can give me some advice? I feel like I would regret it if I never tried.

What sport and what level? I had a similar situation. I didn’t swim in the winter in high school and I am now a D1 swimmer so I can sort of compare. The time commitment isn’t horrible if you plan on giving up other things. I have much more free time now because I don’t have a 45 minute commute and there’s much less class time in college. The time commitment is more than practices and competitions, though. Plan on extra sleep. I never napped before and now I sometimes nap twice a day. Also, it takes a lot of procrastination for me to get the energy to do work. It’s definitely worth the time, though, and you get a great group of friends.
