Ok so this is my first year really being able to be involved in clubs because I didn't have a license and nobody would drive me. I am a junior and am involved in Avant-Garde (film club), debate, activism and awareness (it's through Invisible Children), and theater. Later this year I will be in Thespian and NHS. However, since I didn't get into these clubs til this year I can't get any leadership positions. Anybody else in this same boat or want to give me ideas of what to do?

Oh and post what clubs you're in because I'm interested in learning what other people like.

Don't worry too much. Going into my junior year, I was a member of band and that was pretty much it...By the end of the year I was in debate, a co-captain of mock trial, involved with a community service group and the president-elect of NHS. If you really work towards success and leadership positions and join activities because you like them , not just for college purposes, getting involved is late is better than never, fun, and (I hope) similarly effective as 4-year committments in college admissions.

hey i havent done anything but sports year-round and im at my beginning of my junior year....is it time that i start getting into clubs? how much effect do they have/...i know being in the anime or drawing club is more a hobby than help on admissions...so what do i do?

Well, I have done community service (at least 700 hours in my life) and debate and theater last year... so I'm hoping that's enough. I am doing all of these clubs for myself, for fun, but I'm not gonna lie by saying that it helping get into college isn't a bonus.

Thanks for the encouragement that I'm not alone in this :].
