Joining GAA worth it?

So, I see it costs about $20 a year to join the General Alumni Association. Anybody been in it and felt it was worth it? The benefits are kinda vague.

Honestly, I think my level of involvement with GAA extended to the free t-shirt and travel mug. It’s pretty freakin’ nice travel mug though. I’ve dropped it about twenty times, and not even a crack. Great for tea and coffee

Other than that, I can’t really tell you that I even know what GAA does. Sorry! XD

Yea I am supposedly a member, I got a t-shirt but no mug, which sucks cause it sounds like it is a pretty sweet mug. It is the “alumni” association, so maybe more will happen when we are actually alumni and not current students.

I did the mentor program through them and it has actually helped me out quite a bit. I met an alum who has taken a career path I never knew about and have now become extremely interested in. He’s helped me research it and stuff…so yeah, I’m glad I joined.

i never got a mug either! and they were out of small t-shirts so i had to get a medium :(

but i mean..they give out free food to members all the time which is fun..i think the reason i joined was because they had ice cream that day or something haha
there are also some places on franklin that’ll give you discounts if you’re a member.

also they gave me a nalgene bottle in lieu of a mug, i guess..i forgot about that..
