Joint B.A./M.A. programs

Does UVA offer any joint degree programs that allow you to get your bachelor's and master's in 4-5 years?

Does it matter? Most of those programs are marketing gimmicks that don't offer anything that the student wouldn't be able to accomplish on his/her own with little to no trouble.

FWIW, there is a formal 4.5-5 year BA/MT program in the school of education. Additionally, if you do well in your undergraduate studies in a particular area, it shouldn't be hard to enroll in a terminal master's program in that department, assuming that the department offers a terminal master's program. But that's a decision you shouldn't be making for several years.

I think you can get a masters in accounting during your 4th year...don't hold me to that.

Anything is possible if you come in with lots of credits or are willing to overload/take summer classes. Hell, some guy graduated last year after one year at UVA!

Haha, I saw that on the news. Got a degree in physics.

that kid is ridiculous

the math dept is looking into adding a 4/5 year ba/ma program as an honors program but im not sure what the status of that is.

the politics department offers a BA/MA program
