Journalism and Linguistics

I'm hoping to double major in Journalism (specializing in online media) and Linguistics. I plan to do a lot of traveling in my life, and I have a start in being published already. My dad and I write reviews for a gaming website (we write reviews on games for various platforms and some hardware). So, there's a start, lol.
I'm not completely sure what I want to do in the Linguistics aspect. I love languages and how they work, and I always have growing up. I've taken some Spanish (taking it this fall as well), and I took French I Pre-IB through half of French IV-IB. I have a start in Russian so I'll continue with that at UF (if I get in, lol), since they recommend a non-Germanic, non-Romance language for Linguistics.
I'm interested in the social aspect, language acquisition and things like that. I saw that there's a TESOL Minor. What all could I do with that, if I couldn't go on to do the TESL certificate through graduate studies?

Can anyone shed some light for me and give some possible ideas? :)

Thank you!

And I took JOU 1100 - Basic Reporting and MMC 2100 - Writing for Mass Communications last semester and got I an A and a B in those. ^_^ Think that'll increase my chances any? lol
I took IB classes till the middle of 11th grade, and had an honors course senior year. Will that count for much?
I'm hoping to transfer in the Spring of 2009 with my A.A.
